Haulotte employees spend over 180 hours volunteering equating to $36000 impacted value.

Haulotte Australia have partnered with not for profit Backpacks4VicKids (B4VK) who pack and distribute essential items to children who need emergency care. They provide items like clothing, blankets, torches etc for children that quite often have nothing. They also prepare and distribute over 4000 Christmas gifts to children that would otherwise not receive anything. Over the month of November Haulotte Australia spent the month focussing on contributing to the community in the lead up to Christmas by volunteering with B4VK.

Haulotte employees spent whole days packing the essential ‘Me’ bags and completing admin support that keeps the operation running. They also held a collection drive where people donated toys and essential items to be included in the backpacks and Christmas gifts. Keith Clarke describes the experience and impact it has had on the team.

We were looking for a volunteering or charity organisation to continue the efforts that our global team established through build and repair works in schools in Cambodia in 2019. B4VK was the perfect fit, as we were able to provide a place for our team to volunteer and also see how we as a company can contribute to our local area. The feedback from the team has been exceptional, everyone is so proud to be part of something and the donations collected from staff was worth over $600 in new items,

Keith.

Haulotte also donated over $1000 worth of miniature torches

Haulotte also donated over $1000 worth of miniature torches which according to the founder of Backpacks 4 Vic Kids Sally Beard was their most needed and critical item for every bag.
“Every kid needs to feel safe, so we always include a torch in the bags to give them light, along with comfort items appropriate for each age group. The Haulotte team’s efforts in volunteering came at a critical time as we were preparing the extra Christmas items for the year. We are so thankful for all donations and volunteers and look forward to be partnering with Haulotte in the future”, said Sally Beard.
In total throughout November Haulotte did over 180 volunteer hours. At a conservative estimate, that equates to over 90 backpacks packed with an impact value of $36,000 for children in care in the community. They intend to continue to support B4VKs into 2022 with regular volunteer days to be arranged each month and a regular collection of donated items.

Haulotte will again be supporting kids in need during HIRE22, through Backpacks4SAKids. On the Haulotte stand there will be fundraising and other ways for you to contribute to the cause. If you want to get involved in this or one of the similar charity organisations in other states that help kids in need, let your Haulotte representative know.
