Marking 1000 machine milestone with a Haulotte

  • Haulotte’s HA26 RTJ PRO leads rental company push into big end of market
  • Haulotte’s superior service and support keeps machine utilisation high

The Best New Product of the Year in 2018 – Haulotte’s HA26 RTJ PRO articulated boom – became the 1000th machine in the NSW based Want Access fleet last November, a major milestone for the almost five year old access hire business.

The new Haulotte HA26 RTJ PRO articulated boom also became the 100th Haulotte boom lift, and just one of more than 600 Haulotte machines overall in the Want Access fleet, continuing the rental company’s move into the big end of the market.

Featuring a dual load basket capacity of 250-350kg and all the latest safety innovations for operators, the Haulotte HA26 RTJ PRO maximises Total Cost of Ownership for the rental company.

“Haulotte equipment offers great value for money and is leading our push into the bigger end of the market, extending our reach from 45ft up to 85ft booms,” Want Access Managing Director, Peter Gilmore said.

“Our Haulotte fleet now includes every Haulotte machine from the Optimum 8.1 personnel lift up to the new HA26 RTJ PRO articulated boom. We have extended our range to accommodate all our customers’ requirements and our range now features all the Haulotte equipment plus everything from 40-50ft scissors to forklifts and telehandlers which are becoming a larger part of our business,” Mr Gilmore said.

With a total machine investment of $30million, Mr Gilmore said the company’s significant growth since its inception in 2014 can be attributed to the infrastructure boom in Sydney and NSW.

“We have enjoyed working on a real mix of government and private projects, working with a lot of finishing trades who all need access equipment,” Mr Gilmore said.

“Serving these finishing trades means our 19ft EWPs remain our bread and butter,” Mr Gilmore said.

“Good service is all about giving the customer what they want and we are excited to extend our range to better service our customer needs. The Haulotte HA26 RTJ PRO makes this possible by filling the gap in our fleet range.”

The HA26 RTJ PRO diesel articulating boom has a working height of 26.4 m, platform height of 24.4 m, horizontal outreach of 17.5 m and up and over clearance of 9.3m, with quick, proportional and simultaneous movements, vertical arm rise which means the basket remains parallel to the wall and a total basket load of 350 kg dual capacity.

Plus the HA26 RTJ PRO also features Haulotte safety innovations for operators including: Haulotte Activ'Lighting System for safe loading; Haulotte Activ'Shield Bar 2.0; Haulotte Activ'Screen (on board diagnostic) and Haulotte Stop Emission System which automatically turns the engine off and on and offers 20% reduced runtime and lower emissions.

Want Access has a mission to supply superior equipment and service to its customers and Mr Gilmore said the superior Haulotte product and Haulotte’s service and support which is second to none, has combined with its own quality staff and superior servicing to make that mission viable.

“Haulotte has great people who are very customer focused and Haulotte equipment is innovative and at the leading edge of technology for access equipment,” Mr Gilmore said.

“Service and maintenance is vital to ensure we keep utilisation high and revenue coming in and Haulotte offers us personalised service and follow-up with extended service hours,” Mr Gilmore said.

“That is what keeps us purchasing Haulotte for our fleet; excellent after sales backup and support.”

Haulotte’s Area Sales Manager, NSW/ACT, Paul Sultana said the company had significantly grown its service capabilities in recent years to help customers get the most out of their machines.

“Haulotte is committed to the access equipment after-market with 24/7 emergency back-up, scheduled maintenance facilities and readily available genuine replacement parts,” Mr Sultana said.

“With extended service hours available, Haulotte call-centres troubleshoot any problem; provide personalised service and follow-up in easy to understand language. Our technical experts take into account your priorities and provide solutions either through an immediate response or a scheduled service intervention at your convenience,” Mr Sultana said.

“Plus Haulotte’s primary service workshop is equipped to handle major repairs, complete diagnostics or refurbishing machines,” Mr Sultana said.

Mr Gilmore said while Haulotte service and support have been a big contributing factor to its significant growth its own people at Want Access have also been a large part of the success equation.

“Our people go above and beyond for the company and our customers, so together with Haulotte we make an unbeatable team,” Mr Gilmore said.
